I have always been hugely interested in Bob Marley and I have fond connections to his music from my childhood. I was first inspired to paint him after finding a black and white portrait of him that my uncle had done for my dad. It is an incredible piece that I have up in my living room currently. It is clear from all of my work that I love colour, so I wanted to try creating a portrait that was in my own style, but once I had, I couldn’t stop. There is something about his character than means I never get bored of painting him and his facial expressions are always interesting.
